Mental Health Counseling

At Tampa Therapy and Rehabilitation Services, Kimberley May, LMHC, MCAP, ICADC, CEAP, SAP, CRC, provides individual, couple, and family mental health counseling grounded in attachment theory and evidence-based practice. Serving Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida, both in person and virtually statewide, Kimberley works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and life transitions.

A Foundation in Attachment and Bonding

Kimberley's approach is rooted in her graduate specialization in Attachment and Bonding from the University of South Florida. She believes that lasting emotional health depends on secure, trusting relationships — with oneself and with others. Sessions focus on identifying the patterns that shape how clients connect, cope, and respond to stress, then building healthier ways forward.

Who We Work With

Mental health counseling at Tampa Therapy is tailored to each stage of life:

  • Children and adolescents working through anxiety, behavioral changes, family transitions, or developmental concerns

  • Adults managing stress, mood disorders, life transitions, or relationship difficulties

  • Couples and families seeking to strengthen communication and repair trust

  • Individuals coping with grief, anxiety, or depression who want a structured, compassionate space to process what they're carrying

What to Expect

Every client begins with a thorough intake to understand their history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. From there, Kimberley develops an individualized plan that draws on evidence-based methods suited to the client's needs — always delivered with patience, warmth, and clinical rigor.

In-Person or Virtual, Statewide

Sessions are available at the Tampa office or virtually for clients anywhere in Florida, making consistent care accessible regardless of schedule or location.
