Autism & Neurodiversity Support

At Tampa Therapy and Rehabilitation Services, Kimberley May, LMHC, MCAP, ICADC, CEAP, SAP, CRC, provides neurodiverse-informed therapy for individuals and families navigating autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental differences. Serving Tampa and St. Petersburg in person and virtually statewide, Kimberley brings a strengths-based, attachment-focused lens to supporting neurodivergent clients and the people who love them.

A Strengths-Based Approach to Neurodiversity

Rather than treating neurodivergence as something to be corrected, Kimberley's approach centers on understanding each person's unique way of experiencing and engaging with the world. Therapy focuses on building self-understanding, communication skills, and emotional regulation strategies that fit the individual — not a one-size-fits-all model.

Support for Individuals on the Spectrum

Kimberley works with children, adolescents, and adults on the autism spectrum to address anxiety, sensory sensitivities, social communication, and the emotional challenges that can come with navigating a neurotypical world. Sessions are paced and structured around what helps each client feel most understood and supported.

Guidance for Families

A neurodivergent diagnosis affects the whole family system. Kimberley works with parents, siblings, and caregivers to build attachment, improve communication, and develop strategies that reduce household stress while celebrating each family member's strengths.

Collaborative, Whole-Person Care

Kimberley frequently coordinates with schools, pediatricians, and other providers to ensure consistent, well-rounded support across every part of a client's life.
